Lightfoot’s was established in 1885 by Mr Thomas Bell Lightfoot, whose name is known throughout the world as one of the pioneers of mechanical refrigeration, Lightfoot was the original designer of the first Commercially successful ship's refrigeration plant in which chemical refrigeration was used.
Today the Lightfoot tradition continues and flourishes. The 'Lightfoot' name is associated with high quality Military Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning equipment throughout the world. The company is internationally established as an extremely reliable and innovative supplier of a wide range of custom built refrigeration, air conditioning, chilled water systems and maintenance equipment for the Defence Industry.
Customers throughout the world are major users of Lightfoot systems for both air conditioning and food refrigeration within the Military Tri-Service Environment. These systems are specifically designed to operate under arduous circumstances in a variety of climatic conditions with high operational reliability. The designs also reflect the restricted installation envelope and strict limitations on noise, weight and power consumption for Military applications.
